My boys room has a chalky stain across his wall

Hello i need some advice I’ve noticed in my boys room where the window is across his wall is like a white chalky stain, I've taken photo of it but can’t publish on here to show many thanks. Thank you all for your answers very helpful ill go with the zinsser product.

Hi There, this could be a sign of moisture under the Emulsion causing the paint to flake and feel chalky, alternatively it could be due to poor original mist coating of the plaster below. Photos would help. Regards

Hello this is efflorescence which is caused by damp penetrating through the brickwork and plaster. The cause of the damp needs to be stopped. Once dry scrape off chalky residue and apply 2 coats of Zinsser watertite then fill and paint as normal
