Why is the water pressure in my thermostatic shower so bad?

I have just moved in to my flat and my shower is so poor. It looks like it has recently been done up and has a very nice overhead thermostatic rain shower. The pressure that comes from it is just terrible though unless I turn the temperature tap all the way so that it is scalding hot! When I have it in the middle at a good temperature, hardly any water comes out. I checked that the bath taps are fine and the pressure from both the hot and cold tap is good, so not sure what is happening. Any ideas?

do the feeds to the shower have isolators on them? it could be that the one on the cold feed is faulty or not in right position, only thing likely when its the cold water being an issue, unless its been plumbed in wrong

It could be that the cold feed to the shower is partially blocked. Or if there are isolation valves on the hot and cold feeds then the one on the cold could be partially restricted.

You could just have a partial blockage on the cold outlet of your mixer tap.

More than likely it will be the head pressure from the cold water supply, try having the cold mains supply connected to the shower with a pressure reducer to get a good flow and not full mains pressure.

Simply put a plumbing issue can not be 100% identified and put right with a description or photo a plumber will need to check what type of system is in place and probably remove the shower to check flow rates from hot and cold is the hot water temperature too hot and broke the thermostatic valve get a good with experience to come round for a free quote and get the job done properly and guatanteed
