Can driveway resin pointing be topped up?

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.23 PM

If resin pointing hasn't taken and is just chipping and dust between the joints after 3 months, it it possible to just top up the resin or does it need grinding out and restarting?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

The resin needs grinding out to a depth between 20mm and 30mm and doing again properly, going back over the original pointing with some more will not bond

We don't use resin pointing purely due to this reason. Best solution would be to grind out and re-do with sand and cement. Shouldn't have a problem then
