Wallpaper lines, peeling

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.44 PM

Hi. Had lining paper put down and it was then painted. After a few weeks the lines between the lining sheets are becoming more visible and in some places the joins beteeen sherts are peeling from wall. How is best to fix this to keep a smooth finish? Appreciate any advice!

Very common problem with lining paper badly hung. Usually due to poor pasting technique and not sizing the walls. Its possible to get a thin blade behind the bubbled areas lift and brush in some ovèrlap adhesive or pva. Flatten and clean off residue with a dampened cloth. Repaint But if the problem is extensive then strip it off ( sounds like that wont take long) And get a professional to re-do it

I don’t know anything about wallpapering but a solution would be to fill over the lines and joint s with filler that should sort the issue.

Always use ready mixed adhesive always butt join any always leave to soak for at least 3 mins or you will get expansion bubbles .To fix this problem I would strip and start again .
