Best way to seal gas heater gap in wall?
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.44 PM
Should the gap left in the wall after a gas heater has been removed be sealed by bricking up first and then plastering? Or can it just be plasterboard and plaster only ? Thankyou

Depends on how big the hole is if its large brick up first then float and set or dot & dab plasterboard allowing thickness for skim coat

Depending on what type of build house is traditionally build or timber framed brick up outside and inside for traditional build and plasterboard inside for timber frame brick outside also you may have to use roughcast or brick finish on either outside depending on finish plaster over interior hole on both

All depends on the wall the whole is in. If the wall has been rough and set then should be bricked up and rough and set. If the wall has been dot and dapped then should be the same. With out seeing the wall cant say whats best.
