Window sill gap

Are you talking about outside at the bottom of the window, this gap should be there as it’s for drainage purposes

No you can’t seal the gap as it’s a drainage channel for the window to drain any water out

Depending on the size of the gap, if the gap is under 10mm you could use a general purpose silicon or frame sealant. If the gap is any larger I would probably fill the gap first with expanding foam, and then finish it with a bead of silicon or even trim profile.

Yes silicone can be a used ,but a small way window trim may work better depending on size of the gap 👍

No- this is to allow the window to drain, if you seal it up- water will fill up inside the window and eventually leak out inside (providing they are internally glazed)

Silicone sealant should not be used in the gap between window and sill as there are drain holes in the bottom of the frame and the gap should be kept clear.

NO! This gap is to allow water to drain out of the drainage holes on the window frame and down the sill. If you seal this you will get problems with the drainage getting full and water will end up running behind the brickwork.

Ideally the cill should be fastened on to the frame properly leaving no gap However if it's only a small gap silicon should be adequate to fill it Hope this helps

Yes, use a good silicone like soudal to seal the gap,spray some soapy water on top and finish with running your finger along it,this makes the seal between window and sill

Yes not ideal sill should have been sealed whith silicone and screwed tight to bottom of frame before fitting any gaps should have been under sill which could have been filled whith foam and sealant
