Timber stud wall

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.25 PM

Hi all the house I live in used to be a 1 bedroom but the previous owner made it into 2 bedrooms the wall that divides the bedrooms is a stud wall just wondering how much should it cost for builder to check if it is load bearing am 90% sure it's not but just want to check before I remove it cheers

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi there we would come and check for you and it would cost you £45.00 + vat. Hope this helps. Thanks Martin

If it was previously 1 room and the partition is out of timber it’s highly unlikely it will be bearing any load. Any decent tradesmen will check that before work would commence.

Hi If it was originally 1 bedroom and they put up a stud wall to divide it then it would not be load bearing only need to check on original house walls to see if they are load bearing Regards Gary GSB

Hello. I offer free quotes as do many other builders. So I would come out and give you a no obligation quote for free and take it from there.
