Induction hob and built in oven 22ml worktop

Hopefully I've posted this on the correct section. I'm getting a kitchen fitted at the moment we have 22ml worktops, the instructions on the induction hobs says it requires 30ml worktops. The worktop was. Already cut out to accommodate the induction hob, by builder says he could raise the hob by around 2mls to allow for more ventilation, but seems to think it shouldn't be a big issue. I'm not sure either way, not my domain Any ideas? Thanks

What does the manufacturers instructions say in regard to ventilation? These have to be adhered to.

This is generally the depth required to allow built in oven directly under the hop. Just drop the shelf in the oven unit and lower the oven a touch

Ventilation is not required. The hob needs the 30mm as that is the thickness of the hob. And if it is in a 22mm work top you need to make sure the units below hob do not stop the hob dropping into its cut out in worktop. Some trimming of the carcass may be required where hob passes through worktop.

Hi
It is allways best to follow manufacturers instructions.
How ever if your kitchen fitter allready cut the worktop to acodomate the hob,
As it is
Your worktop is 22mm.The hob thickness is 30 mm, the hob will be 8mm in the unit below.
What you need make sure that nothing
Tampers with the hob, such as if you have drawer unit.
Please also check with your work top supplier they might have spacer to cover up the difference between the kitchen worktop and the hob.
