Most durable and affordable kitchen worktops

We recently bought a house and are redecorating the kitchen. As we don't have a big budget left we are thinking about the cheapest but most durable kitchen worktop materials. We would love to buy a granite worktop but with prices around £300 per square metre it is way over the budget. We have 2 children and we use the kitchen heavily, so the worktop has to last for all occasions. Any recommendations with materials and shops are welcome.

Hi, if u looking for more affordable and also keeping in mind something of ur interest too than why not buy Granite effect laminated worktop from Howdens for £80 per length of 3 m , or £120 per 3 m length from International decorative supply that looks even more durable and granite look alike. Hope it helps.

Laminate work top would be fine also a lot cheaper than quartz

Quartz is a good product but still expensive. Melamine MFC work-tops are durable and more affordable, there are some good brands out there with different designs and finishes and worktop thicknesses and suit many budgets.
