Freezer with plumbing for water

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.50 PM

I would really like to buy a fridge freezer with water and ice built in. What is the deal with getting water to it? Will i have to add a new water pipe to the fridge or is it a simple hose pipe?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi, all depends how far water pipe is but usually it's enough to run small tube pipe 6.4mm to the filter on the back of the fridge

If it’s not one that you top up manually it should come with a filter and pipe that you will need to plumb into the cold water feed to the fridge.

You'll most likely find the new freezer will have an in-line water filter to feed it with water, this will most likely have a female washing machine type fitting at the open end which in turn will need to be connected to a washing machine valve pipe fitting connected to the main cold supply at the nearest point

Hi you will hve to get a cold mains pipe to the location and make sure it is a cold mains pipe and not tank supply if you have one. Normally depending on layout of your house there should be a cold pipe near by either from the kitchen sink but 99%of the time you pick it up from above in the floor void and drop to below hooe this helps
