Hi, I have a back boiler of which I want to keep and needs a service to make sure it's in perfect working order.I have a gas fire that I want removing as I would like to replace it with a wall mounted electric fire. Is it possible to do this?

Most older type back boilers share the flue with the gas fire which makes it almost impossible to separate.

Unfortunately it is not allowed to just leave the backboiler in without the fire

A back boiler with fire is considered to be 1 appliance - the appliance should not be modified. If you wish to replace the fire, it would be a good time to replace the boiler too. New boilers are much more energy efficient than the old back boilers
