Revarnishing wooden floors
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.44 PM
Our wooden flooring has seen better days. Mostly due to previous owner dropping paint all over them. I've never done anything like this before but is it a case of sanding it all back and re-staining it all? I really don't want to have to take the boards up to do it if I'm honest and it's a full staircase and landing. Cheers

Yes the boards can be sanded and taken back to the bare wood, it will take a long time a plenty of patience to do it but well worth it for the end product, it can be done with a sander and the fiddly bits by hand, you don't need to lift the boards to do it.
Hope this helps

Hello, just to confirm if the floor boards are solid then it can be done much quicker with a floor sending/polishing device. So it’s the key to understand which type of flooring you have before the job starts, as if it’s engineered boards it can take longer and result can be unpredictable due to different colors or products in use.

I agree with previous answer but would say to hire an industrial sander and detailer for the job .
