Bathroom Fitting

How to make bathroom with no windows brighter and cosier

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.44 PM

I have a rather large bathroom with (unfortunately) zero natural light coming in - the main problem I have with it that it is dark and damper that I would like it to be. Are there any design or fitting tricks to make the bathroom much brighter? Any fittings that can simulate natural light, maybe? Any advice appreciated

Hello, you can fit a dome feed natural light from this roof,-abit of work alteration involved or alternatively fit natural light bulbs in the ceiling fixtures which are ready available.

Hi, thanks for sharing your questions, I have a couple of ideas for the issues. For more natural light I would suggest that you can construct a shallow false wall or a Window like frames and install natural LED light panels. I always find adding a better or a proper air extraction system to be the best solution for damp problems unless there is a more serious damp or leak issue.

First of all I suggest a bright tiles colour, like a sort of white or light grey. Installing downlights will be a good solution, depending of bathroom size you can go for 4 or even 6. Top would be to install a velux if thr bathroom has the possibility to do it. Installing also a fan extractor with humidity sensor will be the right choice. There are loads of nice bright tiles on the market with a sort of venier in it so just to be sure that you do not go for plain white.

To lighten up dark bathroom the majority people will suggest ‘just white’ but I will disagree! I would recommend using contrasting colours and gloss surfaces with matt enhancers. It is always a good idea to use more than one light source as well to lit up areas. If you need more please get in touch with my company for a tailored design. Kind regards Bee
