Plumbing

American Tap fitting in UK

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.24 PM

Hello. I've purchased a kitchen tap from America. It's a Moen Arbor 7594EC. I was aware that the hose connections would be different, but assumed it would be fairly straight forward to find an adapter, so waited until it arrived to check exactly what would be needed. Now that it's arrived I've ascertained that the hose connections on the tap are 3/8" NPT and I'm trying to fit it to a 1/2"(15mm) BSP isolation valve. I can't for the life of me find an adapter that will do this. My questions are, am I going about this the wrong way? Is there another obvious solution that I'm missing? How do I resolve this? I'm a regular DIYer with little plumbing experience. Thankyou.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

if the 3/8 hose is female then all you will need is a 3/8 male to 1/2 male compression. you can pick this up at any plumbers merchants. Try looking at plumbfix.

Hi Yes you simply need to get a 1/2 inch female x 3/8 male bsp brass bush reducing connector This is something that you would have to get from a plumbing supplier rather than somewhere like a diy shop Hope that helps

You can buy in Toolstation Tap Tail Adaptors 15mm x 1/2", that only 2,89£. Put the adaptors into isolation valve and screw hoses on adaptors.
