I feel the best way to start a loft conversion is to see that you can maximise all available space which could start with No1 dorma size No2 turning a hip end of the roof in to a gable Will make all available floor space useable No3 ceiling height No one wants their head skimming the ceiling No4 minimise the stair space in to the loft room Good stair design is key No5 Bedroom/bathroom or office layout Must be all useable not dead space Good floor plan design

You will have to see if you can get planning permission before you do anything then draw up plans from an architect, then get quotes from your local builder😊
