Rusty leaking radiar

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.49 PM

Hi radiator in the cellar has a rusty leaking spot at the bottom? Is there a way of fixing it without having to replace it? Will sanding it down + use of water based paint do the trick? Is the rusty spot indicator that system needs inhibitor? Many thanks

if its just surface rust rub it down and paint,if the rust goes right through into rad it will need replacing, have your heating checked properly to see if it needs inhibitor.

If the rust has corroded through the metal and is causing a leak. Patching it up is a waste of time. You will need a replacement radiator. Add inhibitor when topping up the system.
