New build, Shower sealant failed already, Unreliable developer HELP
Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.49 PM
New build property, Brand new shower has not even been used for a year and water has got behind the seal which has caused the sealant to fail. Looks like a large gap between where the tray meets the tiles has been left allowing water to get through, measures 6mm-7mm. As the house/bathroom is brand new I would of expected it to last longer than 6 months? Now the developer is known for being unreliable and dismissive about reported issues. I originally reported this to them with images and asking someone to come over to inspect asap. The response I got back was they would send someone round to re-seal the tray, no inspection for water leaks ect, just to put more seal down. Will putting more seal down likely resolve this issue? Would something like this require an inspection for water leaks? Any advice from a professional would greatly be appreciated.
