No access to back grade for new shed.
Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.49 PM
I'm having a new shed put in 10 x 8. However, there is no back access to the property; back to back gardens. The only access is through a a garage and the company have stated that it will not go through the garage. There is no access through the neighbours. So I will need to get the panels over the garage, i'm just unsure how I can do this. Will I need a crane or is there something else that I can use. The company will not carry it over the garage roof due to health and safety.

I have done similar jobs with the same issue, If the garage roof is flat then placing 4x2 timbers along the roof to act as slid runners is the simple quick and easy solution. They need to both be the length of the roof and placed evenly apart. fix a rope or strap over the panel to be slid, (make sure nothing will snag on the runners) and throw the rope into the garden, the panel can then be pulled to the garden side. Its easy with 2 people but have done this on my own. little careful planning and it should be easy. make sure ladders are secure for climbing. use gloves and eye protection.

Depends on the roof type of the garage.
Flat roof is possible to get over.
Crane..
Perhaps check with a different company to see if they are able to provide an alternative delivery.
Or get a chippy /carpenter/fencer to see if it can be taken apart in smaller pieces then put back together.

Look out your top window to see if any of your surrounding neighbors has a side access if they do, walk over their with a fine bottle of wine and you’ve just gain yourself some access! They might even let you take a panel out so you can walk strait through with it.
