Twist / Pop up operated bath plug

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.02 PM

Following on from other Q's and A's on this subject my twist operated bath plug has stopped working. I've taken the bath panel away and exposed the mechanism and found that the cable has become disconnected from the turning device. Can this be repaired or should I just buy a new unit?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

If it were my own situation I'd just buy a new one with the added peace of mind that it will work.

After a few years the wire wears out and it will either snap or stop pulling plug up all together, this also happens when the plug is not removed while people are showering and stand on it breaking the lever. I would suggest going for a non mechanical bath waste as you will only find your self in the same position in a few years Time.

I recommend replacing the whole bath plug to a clicker type, the pop up wastes on cables are not reliable
