Fence timber gravel board thickness

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.02 PM

I am doing my first DIY project on fencing our back garden and I was wondering how thick the timber gravel boards would have to be? I see the standard thickness is 19mm at Wickes, but I am wondering if they would have to be thicker if you have a more uneven ground?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

If using timber gravelboards we always use 22mm X 150mm as this is perfect for allowing the featheredge boards to site onto.

Try a fencing suppliers as opposed to a DIY store. Their gravel boards are ordinarily put through a better treatment process and should last you longer. This is more likely to have more Relevance than the thickness itself. Best of luck with your project.
