Calor Emergency Gas Shut Off - Cover? Housing?
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.02 PM
I have a Calor emergency gas shut off point outside the front of my house. Is it possible to get a cover or housing for this? As it’s exposed to the general public. Someone could easily just turn off my gas.... Many thanks!

You can house it or build a box around it providing you have a opening door to access it.

Yes it is possible to have them housed in a cage for satisfactory ventilation. You could also have a box made for around the emergency cut off valve). All across the land however, gas control valves and emergency cut off valves are usually left accessible ie not locked or at least only have the triangle universal key locks. Purely for access regarding worst case scenarios.

I get your worry... you could go about it another way perhaps.
Maybe a cheap dummy CCTV camera or even a small CCTV sign as a deterrent.
