is it possible to simply (!) change a gas water heater for an electric one and still use the existing pipe and radiater system for central heating and hot water?
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Depends. If you meant changing from gas boiler to Electric Boiler then answer is YES
But if you meant multipoint gas water heat to electric combination boiler then answer is NO.
Converting from gas to electric may cost quite a bit of money. Cheaper if you just swap gas to gas.

Yes, but it will not be so simple.
It will need new power supply 10mm2 wire. Consult electrician.

Changing the gas water heater for a electric one is not a problem, but you will need a separate source of heat for the heating side of it, which is possibly there already. If you have gas then go with a combi to do both, if you have good boiler fluing options.

Yes you can do this with Heatrae Sadia Electromax that will give you stored hot water and it will supply heat for radiators.
You will need new wiring (new cable and fuse )and make sure system is cleaned before connecting up new boiler.
