A fence between my house and neighbours garden

We have a 2metre fence in our front garden between our front gardens as the old fence was rotten we have paid for it but our local house association is sending a surveyior round to tell us what we are allowed what is the legal limit fence for between houses

Generally in front gardens fences/walls should be 2 meters or below except if it is next to a road or footpath. If your garden is next to a road/footpath, then your fence height restriction is 1 meter. Each council has their own regulations so there may be some slack here. Hope that helps.

Hi the legal limit is 1.8m in height from ground level

I have always understood that six feet was the permitted height
But have seen some fences seven or eight feet
If you stick to the standard six feet then their should not be any problem
