Low pitched lean-to roof

Hi, I’m soon to be taking delivery of a Green Oak garden room which will be fitted up to rafter level but not the roof tiles etc. The roof is a lean-to, size 6.5m x 3m. My problem is the pitch is only 10 degrees and I would like to fit plain tiles. Please, can you advise on construction and ventilation? Thanks, Philip Joy.

hi as mentioned.for a low pitch roof.10 degree.and to fit plain tiles?. from my experience/the pitch is too low.you can choose (felt shingles) that are shaped like plain tiles.different shapes.and sizes. felt shingles would be far better.and show samples to client.... shingle roof made of asphalt material.

You could make a secret flat WARM GRP roof which if correctly detailed will prevent and stop any construction, condensation and thermal issues. Then put a false plain clay tile pitch over this - it would be expensive and the structural engineer would need to design for live and dead loads; but plain tiles or felt shingles are a ''no brainer'' on a pitch this shallow.

the answer is good, however I need to add my concern that this roof is not strong enough, and can not be fitted with a concrete or clay tile due to the weight unless structural calculations are made. These buildings are nearly always felt or timber shingles. Note that the minimum pitch for timber shingles is 14 degrees and felt around 15 degrees. More information required!

No the pitch is to shallow, and the cappiler action will back up over the tiles
