We have just installed timber windows and plastering is next. What is the best way to protect them from possible trowel / plaster damage?

u can put tape over the window frames to protect them from plaster and a good plasterer should not mark them and be careful when doing the work

Tape can work. But PLEASE do not use the common brown masking tape on windows. Invest in some quality tape that allows removal after a sustained period of time. Tesa do good tapes for this . I would be tempted to use tesa 4440
