Setup of Data / Coaxial points and Satellite dish.
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.23 PM
Hi all, I recently purchased a new build property. All of the rooms have existing data points (Ethernet) & coaxial points, the wiring leads into the loft and is labelled by room (7 rooms) and not connected to anything, likewise with the satellite dish wires, they enter the house but are not connected to a unit. What do I need to do and what products do I need the purchase?

you need to install a ethernet switch for the data points and connect it to your router that way the signal is bought in through the router and distributed to the data points within the wall, these data cables can also be used to distribute your sky signal to different tv points using HDMi extenders, for the satellite points you also need some sort of amp depending on what you want to use it for but Sky is a good way forward now and only use one of the cables directly from the satellite
