Do you need to use trunking when installing a new UK plugsocket and plaster?
Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.48 PM
Hi, I have added a new double socket above an original one, and now it's time to plaster in the gap (which was used to get cables in), but do I need to trunk the wires before plaster them? I get mixed answers on this topic. And if so, what sort of trunking should use. Thank you!

Just use some 20 capping just in case you snag with the trowel, unless you are confident, the plaster won’t damage the cable. And the cable is in the safety zone so no real danger.

It's not a requirement, however it is good practice to cap over the cables. Also please make sure you have used an approved electrician for any electrical work undertaken.
