Can I put wooden flooring on underfloor heating?

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.48 PM

I was wondering if you have to use tiles on underfloor heating - would wooden flooring warp due to the heat?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Wooden floor can be used but it has to be engineered (ask manufacturer if suitable) but it does not give the same heat transfer as tiles as wood is an insulator

The manufacturer of the floor you chose will say on the leaflet if it is suitable for underfloor heating and as already stated on the previous answer heat transfer is not as good as a tiled floor

Depending on type of underfloor heating, you can use engineered or laminate flooring. Regards Larry Macs flooring

Most flooring can be used with underfloor heating using the correct underlays and membranes. However you are best checking the manufacturers instructions of the flooring you wish to choose.
