Change of pipe location for oil boiler system

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.47 PM

I have an oil boiler in the house we have just bought. The oil boiler is in the kitchen and sits under the counter. However at the side it has a long vertical pipe that has meant the worktop has to be cut around it and it sticks up about 5cm above kitchen counter. We are having a new kitchen fitted and wondered if this can be moved so we don’t have to have it poking out from the new granite worktop.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Do not cut it yourself get it checked by someone who has a ticket for that type of boiler

This could potentially be the boilers flue pipe if it is this could not be cut down. A possibility of re routing the flue could looked in to but not likely the original engineer is just making sure they don’t cut in to a flue or something else that could be potentially dangerous

Best to get a local oil fired heating man to have a look. He will be able to advise and adjust in the safest manner. Guy

Never guess at what it might be.it could be part of the flue or oil line to boiler.get a professional heating engineer to have a look.tampering with it could be dangerous or even life threatening.take some photos if need be to send to an engineer for advice.they will point you in the right direction.
