Budget for hip-gable and dormer extension
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.23 PM
We are on a very limited budget for our loft conversion. We are currently looking to just do the shell - hip to gable and dormer without any further work. We are also able to supply materials - is it possible to find a builder happy to work in stages?
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

You can get most Builders to quote for stages as seperate jobs, but it will cost more in the long run.

You may run into problems with Building Regulations... it depends how slowly you want to draw out all of the stages. Where in the UK are you?

The job would cost more and would only run smoothly if the client gets the materials on site when they are required.

Would cost each stage as separate jobs at usual costs, wouldn't charge more because its getting done in stages, check client has materials before starting to make sure it gets completed smoothly for my team as well as the customer.
