Pump in hot water tank stopping randomly

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.01 PM

So the pump in my hot water tank stops randomly when shower is on. When turning the shower on, it doesn't work straight away, it comes on after about 30 seconds when the pump kicks in. Then pump stops for a minute, and then it starts working again. It's also very noisy. It's not an old pump, had it installed 1.5- 2 years ago. What could be the cause? I wanted to ask the question before getting anyone in to check, maybe it's something simple I could do? Thank you

first check filters are not clogged up,some of these pumps are noisier than others, the flow valves may be sticking, the pump may be breaking down due to overheated hot water, most pumps will only made for water up to 60/65c,very few are ever installed taking note of this, put pump on rubber mat and box in to keep noise down.
