Which kitchen brand would you recommend? Howdens, B&Q homebase, ikea etc

Being a kitchen fitter myself and from the brands you have mentioned, I personally would choose Howdens, I believe their Burford range is a good solid door and built to last, their carcases are all solid 18mm rigid construction (unless you go for their cheaper flat-pack option) B&Q in my opinion are not good quality, very flimsy and only 3mm back panels, Wickes are ok, if you decide on a kitchen from there, search out your nearest Benchmarx outlet and look there, its the same product, both companies owned by Travis Perkins, Benchmarx often cheaper unless Wickes have a sale on. Haven't fitted an Ikea for some time, from memory the quality is good and I like their system for hanging the wall cabinets, it allows you to put fixings where ever you want to avoid buried pipes and cables. Note: If items arrive damaged, or some don't arrive at all,(which is often the case), both Howdens and Benchmarx are never far away and carry stock, elsewhere you will wait weeks. Wren are worth a look, but the one I fitted a few weeks ago I noticed the lipping on some of the doors not being very good, if it was mine I would have sent about half a dozen doors back. Recently fitted one supplied by DIYKITCHENS.COM I think that's what they were called, good quality and good aftersales service. Hope this helps, Ian....

Personally I would recommend wicks. Having fitted many flat pack kitchens over the last 25years wicks would always undoubtedly come out on top as the best quality flat pack.

Howdens are pretty good and ready made carcasses. If you fancy a challenge (building some of the carcasses) then IKEA are also very good and they have good ideas, B&Q are also worth a try.
