How to find a trade for building a roof garden/roof terrace
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.23 PM
Hi I'm curious to know what kind of trades people would I need to start a project like this? I have 3 storey town house with a top floor walk in wardrobe that could accommodate a stair case to the flat roof and I know I need some kind of structural engineer but beyond that I'm pretty clueless.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

You can enquire with a domestic building company to facilitate these works. Typically a carpenter would work as a site manager on a project like this.
Depending on how you want the roof garden finished it could typically include architect, structural engineer, carpenters, roofers & a landscaper

I would go with an architect first - or even sound out building control and planning first.
If these agree it is a sound idea then you look further into
a. can you afford it - the things you do not see that others can point out (to meet planing and building control)
b. what trades are involved.
