How to connect the new sink waste pipe to the existing solid ventilation pipe?
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.23 PM
Hi I'm renewing my kitchen. The sink to be relocate and the new waste drainage has to be external. The problem is that the only way is trough a SVP that is around 8 linear meters far from the new sink and also the new waste pipe should bend a 90 grade angle before arrive to the SVP. Is there any way to do this? Thanks for your Time Greetings David

As long as there is a downward gradient to the soil pipe you can run it along the external wall, bend it round with a elbow fitting and connect using a pipe boss. Depending on the material of the soil pipe you would have to use different methods to cut the boss out.

I would carry out the main pipe run in 2” waste pipe to avoid syphoning of the kitchen sink trap and allowing foul smells from the soil pipe back up through the kitchen waste. You can reduce to 11/2” to the trap outlet keeping this as short as possible. You can then boss into the soil pipe with a 2” strap on boss or similar.
