Level a self leveling floor gone wrong

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.22 PM

Hello, we mistakenly though with a little encouragement (spreading it out to the corners) the compound on our kitchen floor would self level. It didn't and now we need to get a bumpy lumpy floor with hairline cracks in it levelled. Any advice much appreciated!

You best option will be to chisel up the old self levelling. Once this has been done mix up water and pva and roll all over the floor that is needing to be self levelled. Once this has been done, if you buy a two part self levelling compound you will get the perfect consistency. In terms of spreading the levelling you are best pouring the levelling out, pushing it around with a trowel, once this has been done use a spiky roller on a long pole which will allow you to equally level the self levelling across the floor area. Hope this helps. :)
