Cracked Inspection Chamber Cover
Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.46 PM
Hi, I have an Inspection Chamber on my tarmaced driveway which has cracked and needs replacing. I have purchased a new frame and cover as both have become damaged. My question here is do I have to concrete the frame to the ground or just concrete around the frame? Also, does the frame screw into the ground? Thanks in advance

depending if it’s plastic or metal it should sit on a flat brick built base with some screws into brickwork with some concrete or tarmac around edges and compacted

Hi manny,
First Open the chamber and stuff a bag or something of that sort to prevent any debris falling into the hole, this will allow you to work more freely. Remove the old frame and clean any old cement etc back to a clean surface. It Will be a good idea to wash the area with some water to allow a strong key for the new cement to stick. Cement the new frame in. I wouldn’t worry to much about how you fix it as when you relay the new tarmac around the fame this is what does most the holding. Once you’ve finished cementing just whip the back out and your done! ;)
Thanks, Sam
