Can a gas main be encased in concrete

I have had a concrete raft installed due to soft ground. They have concreted over the gas main and then played block driveway .is this correct procedure

As above this is known as a built over service and should not have been done, Cadent should have been contacted prior to work starting with a view to having it moved.

Your external gas main should not be built over. If an extension or porch is built over the external gas supply you would need to contact the supplier for your region and have it checked, it may need to be moved.
