Downstairs neighbour new boiler is loud
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.23 PM
I live in a mainsonette with one neighbour in the flat below me. In the last two weeks neighbour has just had a new boiler put in - they removed her back boiler and put a new one into the wardrobe cupboard in her bedroom. Our flats are an exact match (my bedroom cupboard is directly above hers) and I had a combi boiler put into my bedroom wardrobe cupboard a year ago. Every time my neighbour uses her hot water I get a very loud noise coming from my bedroom wardrobe cupboard. It sounds like a waterfall, as if my boiler was on and making lots of noise. It's driving me up the wall. I know it's not my boiler as mine is very quiet and I have knocked on her door when I have heard the noise and she has confirmed she was using hot water. When she had her old system I could hear when she used the hot water from a cupboard in the hallway. Now the sound is in my bedroom and it's 10x louder. I have asked the original plumber to come out but they are saying that they have done nothing to affect the system. They had to access my flat as her water tank is in my loft space. When they did this they mistakenly shut off my water and I had to call them out to turn it back on. Any ideas about how I can approach this? I need this noise to be delt with. It's been 2 weeks and I want to get something fixed asap. Many thanks
