Hi i have unintentionally painted watered down silk paint onto new dried out plaster. I want to use matt paint as my final top coat can I just go a head & use it?

If you lightly sand the surface and apply 2 coats of a quality paint you should not have a problem.

As long as the silk has dried out properly, a very light rub down with a fine sand paper being careful as to not peel the silk paint off, it should be fine.

For a proper painting job i reakon sanding that silk paint down to plaster and then apply mist coat after this you can apply 2 coats of desired paint, even if you sand lightly that silk paint there’s no bond between plaster and silk paint and even if you paint on top of that you risk bubbles to pop up or to peal off!
