Heated towel rails
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.21 PM
We have a chrome towel radiator in the bathroom connected to the heating system, the welds down one side are rusting and we need to replace the radiator just because it looks unsightly, I should add that the heating system has had the correct additives installed. Is there a good make which we can buy to ensure that this does not happen again or is it better to go for stainless steel.

Hi this is normal for a towel radiator that’s old I would recommend avoiding a cheap one as they use cheaper materials hence the rust in most cases the vent and blanking cap can leave leaving a rust like stain if leaking so please check this first. Hope this helps FlexiHeating & Bathrooms.

Towel radiators can corrode on the outside, this is caused by moisture in the room like condensation.its best to get a good quality rail and wipe down with a dry cloth when finished in bathroom.inhibiter is used on heating systems internally.

Either the valves are leaking and causing it to rust but condensation in the air, try to find a better quality towel rail
