French Door out of order

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.21 PM

Bi-fold door (wooden) hinges need to be replaced. Doors need to be UN-install first then replace new hinges. Thank you.

Each and every hinge needs either replacing on each leaf(one at a time)and and expansion planed off. With out looking at it it maybe as simple as screws have come loose or need replacing.

This can be a common issue with wooden bi-fold and French doors. If it has not been sealed top and bottom then it has likely swollen from the weather. Firstly site inspection would be needed to determine the exact course of action. It could well be just be loose hinges and if so then an easy fix, slightly longer screws fitted will tighten the hinges back so the door fits and shuts. If its has swollen then it would need to taken off planed down re hung and sealed top and bottom so this does not happen again.
