You need to figure out whereabouts on the cycle the dishwasher is failing before this can be correctly answered. Your description isn't revealing enough..
So long read..
Before you start make sure the soap dispenser flap is closed..
1) The first thing a dishwasher does after you close the door is wait s few seconds then it starts a short drain cycle.
.... if you can hear the pump running then you know the pump is not blocked which can occur by an object such as a shard of glass jamming the pump impeller.
If you do not hear the pump place your ear onto the decor door. If you can heat a faint him then the pump is blocked. The hum Is the motor trying to turn the impeller.
.... if you can hear the pump running but it is not draining then you have a blockage in the drain system. Most likely place for this is a kinked drain hose behind the dishwasher. Badly routed drain hoses can kink after a few months due to the stress on them on a tight turn.
Second most likely place is the end point of the drain hose where it attaches to the house plumbing typically under your sink. You can disconnect this end hold it over a bucket and see how much water comes out during the drain cycle. It should not be trickling out if there is water in the dishwasher.
2) after the drain cycle it should start to fill. If the drain cycle never ends so it never reaches this stage then your dishwasher has an internal leak. Water is collecting in an internal sump and triggering s sensor causing the drain pump to run continuously.
..... if you don't hear water coming in repeat ear to decor door. A hum indicates water valve is opening but no water is present. Cause for this would be a kinked inlet hose behind the dishwasher or the inlet tap for the hose is turned off
3) after it finished filling the main wash motor will come on. This can be clearly heard and is very distinctive. If you cannot hear this, ear to the decor door. Humming noise indicates there is power to the motor but the motor has seized. This will be caused by something such as a shard of glass.
4) At one of the stage 3's dependant on the wash cycle you selected the water will start to heat. You can determine if this is supposed to be happening because the soap dispenser flap will also open at the start of the first heated wash. Typically if there is no heat the heating element would gave failed
The dishwasher however would continue through all its cycles so this may not be obvious other than the dishes wont wash or dry very well
5) after washing for a pre determined time it will once again drain.
6) It will now repeat cycles 1 to 5 multiple times dependant on the program selected
7) eventually on modern dishwashers it will get to the final hot rinse, then drain and then use the latent heat to dry the dishes.
......................
......................
From this information you should be able to determine whereabouts in the cycle the machine is failing.
On most dishwashers when they fail they display an error code. This could be a flashing number in a display panel or a series of neon/L.E.D."s lit up..
One oddball fault that can occur is...
If you find your dishwasher filling then immediately draining then refilling. This is caused by a failure in the water fill level. The dishwasher is over filling. Sensors detect this and then activate the drain pump. The water level then lowers and then attempts to refill on a never ending cycle.
So diagnose where the dishwasher is failing and edit your question.
Hope that helps

Hi, I’d most likely say the filter at the bottom of the washer is blocked. Try cleaning that one out and should do the trick
