Bathroom Fitting

Remove a wet room floor and fit a shower cubicle and shower unit

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.46 PM

Hello all, We have just moved into a bungalow in south Lincolnshire. There is a small pump fitted in the airing cupboard which backs on to the bathroom. The pump services the shower which is fitted to the joining wall. The shower is over a tiled "wet room" style floor which is showing its age. Our plan is to 1. Replace the wet room floor with a large shower tray 2. Replace the very weak shower with something more capable of rinsing off soap and shampoo Soooo.... having set the scene my questions are 1. How expensive/ difficult will it be to remove the floor and have a shower base fitted in its place? 2. Will an electric shower do the job? We have always used showers fed directly from the hot water tank as there are only two of us. Our previous house had some form of Mira shower with two power settings which was the sort of thing I had in mind. Any advice or comments gratefully received. Thanks

Hello, my estimate would go towards minimum £500 labour wise, plus materials, although in Lincolnshire prices would be lower than London. Still the job will take about 3 days, it's really hard to give a close figure without surveying the site or at least looking at some pictures.

Hello, my device would be to post the job and get someone to give you a quote, it’s hard to give an idea of cost without having a look. Thanks
