No water from taps but combi boiler working

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.22 PM

I have changed the tap from the cold water supply that feeds the washing machine and dishwasher due to a leak. We have to turn the mains stop cock off. When turning it back on again we have no water from our taps, but our combi boiler is working. What could the problem be? Edit: there is no water from any taps in the house.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

It sounds like it could be what’s know as a loose jumper stop tap and the jumper inside the stop tap has got stuck in the closed position or its sheared off. If you have a stop tap in the street you could turn that off and either change your internal stop tap for a new one or dismantle the existing to free it up. If your not confident in doing this then contact a plumber.
