shower caused plaster + lining paper through the party wall to blister
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.22 PM
the wall damage is area wise not that great. however the' bulge' bubbled wall seemed to mean the plaster is possibly shot.. is that correct ? what needs to be done to f ix and get back to normal plasterer to replaster 6x3 area and how long to dry out then a decorator to reline the wall and paint ? have dried the wall out witha dehumidifer over several weeks - not sure now where to start. does the plaster actually need removing ? do the painter decorators actually plaster this small area

Sounds like there is a leak in the pipework running into the shower that would need sorting first . Then the damp plaster would need removing . Finally decorate .
Anymore qeustions feel free to ask

Like Robert said above, there is most likely a leak that would need to be addressed first. If it was a leak, then removal of all loose and damp material would probably be your quickest approach, then depending on the state of this would answer whether or not a plasterer was necessary or just a decorator. For the best finish, I would lean towards calling a plasterer in, followed by a decorator a few days later. Unless it was a paper finish you were looking for, I would also forego the paper lining of the walls, as this wouldn't be necessary.
