Plasterboard thickness

What tickness plasterboard should be used on walls and chimney breast if being bonded over? My plasterer has turned up with 9.5mm boards but i thought they were just for ceilings.

12.5 or 9.5mm can be used on walls if the walls are solid, 12.5mm if on studwork.

Hi, I would say if the chimney is in use to use fire board which I believe is 15mm. That being said if the chimney is not in use either 9.5 or 12.5 depending on the situation of the work.

Yes you would need heat resistant plasterboard for the chimney Brest if chimney in use, I would also recommend heat resistant plaster to plaster the chimney Brest, apart from the Brest either 9.5 or 12.5 will be fine.
