Fencing

Can a neighbour erect a fence alongside mine

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.46 PM

Thanks for the responses. Some say yes some say no. So no clearer. Appreciate taking time to offer advice. Fence is now going up. Really don't know why as my fence is six foot so I haven't been unreasonable. Are there any fencer's out there who can offer advice please please?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Yes they can erect a fence up to 2m in height on their land. Any higher than this and this would require planning permission.

As long as its on there land ,As above 2mtrs maximum height without the need for planning .but planning are not clairvoyants and people have a tendency just to do things in the hope that nobody reports it or until they try to sell and its flagged up. Really depends if they go above 2mtrs and if you want to stay friendly with your neighbours. Most standard 6ft panels are 1.8m high Good luck Alex
