Installion of a Neff 7.5kw induction hob

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.22 PM

I am currntly updating my kitchen and I have 45amp fuse/ breaker at the consumer board that used to be for an electric shower. The cable is 10mm. Can I use this cable with a reduced 32amp fuse / breaker to provide power to the induction hob Thanks in advance D Thanks everyone for your replying. Can I just clarify this. From the consumer board with a 32amp breaker to the bull nose connection point and then the induction hob tail in the bull nose. Do I require any additional fuse/spur between the consumer unit and the induction job. Thanks again D

As all the guys said above you will be fine. You are reducing the final demand on the circuit by installing a 32a mcb, 10mm cable will carry 64A in the best of conditions and 32A in the worst conditions. In a demestic dwelling for this kind of circuit the installation method would be method C, meaning the cable should be good for 64A.

A 4mm Heat resistant flex to the hob is quite sufficient. The rest ok. Your edit... since you have to ask the question regarding a fused spur etc I suggest this has reached the limit of your knowledge. Suggest you get an electrician involved.

yes that will not be an issue. with a 10mm T&E cable providing you dont go higher that 50amp that will be fine.

as Premier said that will be fine and I can confir the same it will be fine put a 32amp or a 40amp into the board and make sure its rcd protected and you gas and water are bonded correctly for extra safety before undtaking any electrical work use correct rated switches as well and make sure all earthed correctly with proper hr07 heat proof flex to hob maybe a 6mm cable rated for heat exposure. use a cooker bull nose out let with a flex clamp on the out let and do a proper jobbie :) if in dought,,, give us a shout :D Joe
