Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.21 PM

Just had done some work done. Have an agreement, which could be viewed as a contract, although the builder has only initialed it. Work is compete and he has supplied bank details. Can I ask for an invoice before paying?

It is not illegal to not supply an invoice, by all means you can ask for one, including a breakdown fo what you have been charged.

Hi, not all customers want or even ask for an invoice. As I'm aware it is not a legal requirement to give an invoice. Saying that, it is good work practice to supply a customer with an invoice/receipt on completion/payment on job. I would always give a customer a written, or more often now emailed invoice, with bacs details attached. Hope this helps.

We won’t do any work for anyone unless they agree to our terms and conditions contract first they read and sign it and we sign it we Both Get a copy and then we take a deposit before any work commences and then we provide a full invoice on completion If the customers won’t sign contract or pay deposit we don’t do the work
