Do I need to change a chimney inline replacing a gas fireplace to wood burn one

Do i need to replace a chimney inliner (diameter 15 cm) if replacing a gas fireplace to wood burning one? Also do i need to get swipe the chimney before this work is done or when the wood burn one is in the place? Many thanks for any advise.

Hi Jal you should always change a liner on a new installation. Gas liners and solid fuel liners are made with different grades of steel. You should always change a liner as you cannot see it state, most liners have a lifetime of about 10 years but this can reduce if its been incorrectly installed. All chimneys must be swept prior to an installation to ensure the flue is free of any debris, blockage or combustible materials. hope this helps
